The Swamp

£120.00
Sold

Light filtering through the trees glittered dimly as we ventured deeper. Our faces grew pale in the gloom. Too late, we realized we had entered a swamp. There was no signpost here, no sky, no map. We were utterly lost.

For years, we wandered blind like children from a fairy tale. We searched every day for a way out, finding nothing, only pathways which circled back to their origin.

One day, despairing and hopeless, we discovered a old boat, hidden in the reeds. Alas, it was small. There was only room enough for one. Suddenly we had a choice. Perish together, or survive alone...

This painting is for one who is entering a swamp right now, or coming out the other side. I'm not sure if there's a short cut, but every swamp has a beginning, and an end.
